Cookie Policy

On this page
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used on www.precisionautospallc.net, operated by Precision Auto Spa LLC. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
The short version. This site runs Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time by clicking "Opt out" on the banner or the "Cookie settings" link. When you opt out we switch the tag off, clear its cookies and reload the page, and it stays off on future visits. We run no advertising trackers at all.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. When you come back, the browser hands it back, which is how a site remembers something about you between visits.
Two closely related technologies do a similar job, and this policy covers them too:
- localStorage, browser storage that persists until it is cleared. We use it for your cookie banner choice.
- sessionStorage, the same idea, but wiped when you close the tab.
Cookies set by this domain are called first-party. Cookies set by another company whose content is embedded on a page are called third-party.
2. The categories we use
Strictly necessary, always on
These make the site work and record the privacy choice you made. They cannot be switched off through the banner, because switching them off would mean forgetting that you said no. They store no advertising identifiers and are not used to profile you.
Analytics, on until you opt out
These tell us which pages get read, which services people look at, and where visitors give up, so we can improve the site. We run one: Google Analytics 4. It starts when the page loads, so if you have not answered the banner you are being measured. Click "Opt out" and three things happen at once: we set Google's own off switch so the tag stops reporting, we delete its cookies, and we reload the page so nothing from it is still running. Your choice is remembered, so it does not load at all on later visits unless you change your mind.
Marketing and advertising, off unless you say Okay
These would measure ad campaigns or build audiences. We currently run none, and we have no plans to sell or share advertising data about you. If that ever changes, this page changes first and the banner will ask you again.
3. Exactly what this site sets
This is the complete list as of the date at the top of this page.
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pas-cookie-consent |
localStorage | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you clicked "Okay" or "Opt out", so the banner does not reappear on every page. | Until you clear your browser storage |
pas_cookie_consent |
First-party cookie | Strictly necessary | The same record as above, written as a cookie as well so your choice survives browsers that restrict localStorage. | 180 days |
pas-cookie-consent-dismissed |
sessionStorage | Strictly necessary | Set only if you close the banner without choosing. Stops it reappearing for the rest of that browsing session. No consent is recorded, so nothing non-essential runs. | When you close the tab |
_ga |
First-party cookie | Analytics | Set by Google Analytics unless you have opted out. Distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. | 2 years |
_ga_M2FP5HSK6M |
First-party cookie | Analytics | Set by Google Analytics unless you have opted out. Keeps track of where the current visit started, so a single visit is not counted several times. | 2 years |
The two analytics cookies are set unless you opted out. If you did opt out, the first three are the only entries this site creates. We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site identifiers in either case.
4. Third-party content
Our service-area pages embed a Google Maps frame showing the area we cover. When one of those pages loads, your browser contacts Google to fetch the map, and Google may set its own cookies and receives your IP address and browser information. That is Google's processing under Google's privacy policy, and we do not control it or receive that data. Pages without a map do not contact Google.
Our links to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and our Google Business Profile are plain outbound links. We do not embed their tracking pixels or social widgets, so those platforms are not notified when you view our pages. They only see you once you click through.
Our web host records standard server logs, which is described in our Privacy Policy. Server logs are not cookies and are not affected by the banner.
5. Changing your answer
You can change your mind at any time, in either direction. The "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page reopens the banner.
Choosing "Opt out" after previously accepting also clears the common analytics and advertising cookies we know how to remove. Some third-party cookies can only be removed from the browser itself, or from the third party's own settings, which is what section 6 is for.
6. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either for all sites or site by site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies on this site will not break it, but the banner will ask you again on every visit, because we will no longer have any record of your answer.
On a phone, the same controls live in your browser's settings, and your device's operating system may add its own tracking controls on top.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for how a site should answer one, and browsers send them inconsistently, so we do not respond to them. Our cookie banner is the control that actually governs what runs on this site, and it is honored on every page.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever what we set changes, and the effective date at the top will move. If we add a category of cookies that needs your consent, we will ask again through the banner rather than relying on an answer you gave about something else.
